Partnership agreement between the ECAC in Slovakia and the Czech Republic

The Board of the ECAC in the Czech Republic - Superindentent Marián Čop and Jaromír Neuman - visited the city of Bratislava on 9 July 2012. They have signed the partnership agreement, which established a close cooperation of the ECAC in Slovakia with the ECAC in the Czech Republic, at the General Bishop’s office.
The partnership agreement includes six sections that cover cooperation in strengthening of the fellowship, schools, diaconic work, and relationships within the church, in society, and also between Lutheran churches in Central Europe. A special article has been dedicated to support of cultural and religious identity of Slovak Lutherans in the Czech Republic. Superintendent Marian Čop and Jaromír Neuman appreciated the kindness of the ECAC in Slovakia. They noted that relationships with the ECAC in Slovakia have a priority for the ECAC in the Czech Republic. Fulfillment of this partnership agreement should be carried out in near future according to superintendent Čop and young pastors can work in parishes in Slovakia and vice versa. The partnership agreement provides a broad framework for cooperation and is in accordance with the partnership agreement with Croatia and Hungary, which also deals with the pastoral care of expatriate Slovak Lutherans.
