Celebrations of the 400th anniversary of Žilina Synod
From 28.6.2010 until 4.7.2010 the celebrations of the 400th anniversary of Žilina Synod took place in Žilina and were organized by the Evangelic Church of Augsburg Confession in Slovakia in cooperation with the Mayor’s Office in Žilina and the Žilina region.

The Theological Conference ECAC
The Theological Conference took place in the congress hall of the Mayor’s Office in Žilina from 29th to 30th of June on the theme “The Žilina Synod“. This event was accessible to the public as well.

ECAC Synod 2010
ECAC Synod was held from 1. to 2.7. 2010 in the evangelical church in Žilina. Since the theme topic was the Synod of 1610 (and its 400th anniversary) it had a more festive character that year and it was also very significant for the institutionalization of the Lutheran church in the Upper Hungary and for the further development of our church following that Synod.

II. Evangelical Church Days in Žilina and Bytča
II. Evangelical Church Days 2. – 4. 7. 2010 were also dedicated to the 400th anniversary of Žilina Synod. The gathering of Lutherans from the whole Slovakia was joined by many Slovaks living abroad along with representatives from Lutheran churches in Germany, Austria, Hungary, Poland Czech Republic, Romania, Serbia and Sweden.

Festival of Ancient Music 2010 - Musica Religiosa
The Festival of Ancient Music will open with a Latin Mass in the Church of St. John of Mathy on June 1, 2010. In the Big Evangelical Church, on Panenska street, on June 11, 2010, will be the performance of the Czech choir Societas Incognitorum.

Installation of Archbishop in Finland
The installation ceremony of the new Archbishop of the Evangelical Church of Finland, Kari Mäkinen, has taken place in the Cathedral of Turku (Finland) on the 6th of June 2010. The General Bishop Of ECAC in Slovakia Miloš Klátik has attended this festivity with greetings for the newly installed bishop.

Lutheran Ecclesiology in Münster
A seminary on the topic “Lutheran Ecclesiology – Realizing the One Holy, Catholic and Apostolic church” took place in Münster (Germany). The General Bishop of ECAC in Slovakia – Miloš Klátik - has contributed to the conference by giving a lecture on “Apostlehood of the Church”...

Funeral of Emeritus Bishop Ján Antal
On the 8th of June a farewell service was held in the Evangelical church in Rastislavovce dedicated to deceased emeritus bishop Ján Antal. The Bishop of Western District Milan Krivda served the sermon with an associate pastor Ivan Eľko. To pay their respect to the emeritus bishop J. Antal on behalf of ECAC in Slovakia came the General Supervisor P. Delinga and General Bishop M. Klátik, who blessed the deceased over his grave.
