Like every year on 3rd May 2012 a commemoration of death of General Milan Rastislav Stefanik in the Evangelical Church in Košariská took place. This year we have commemorated the 93rd Anniversary of his demise.
Rev. Marian Čop was introduced into the office of superintendent of the ECAC in the Czech Republic on Sunday, 29th of April 2012. The service was held in the Church of St. Michal in Jirchářích in Prague. There have been important guests from the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany and the USA who were not only clergy but lay as well.
From 12 - 13 May 2012 the 168th festival of Gustav Adolf Werk took place in the northern city of Blexen. Representing our church at this event was Milan Krivda, bishop of the Western District of Evangelical Church of Augsburg Confession.
A formal presentation of two books was held on 18 April 2012: First, a book written by General Bishop Miloš Klátik – “cestou viery” (On the path of faith) and the other was book of Július Madaras – “kazateľ, humane study, človek” (Preacher, humanist, man), editted by Prof. Dalimír Hajko. Both books are published by publishing house Tranoscius.
This is the headline of a christian conference that will take place from 4th till 6th of July 2014 in Wroclaw, Poland.
3rd Evangelical church days are approaching and part of the organizing team has set out to Lucenec to meet with the city representatives and representatives of the local congregation.
General Bishop Klatik took part in a pastoral conference on 16th of April in Martin. The conference was organized for pastors of Turiec seniorate.
Congregation in Pribovce welcomed the General Bishop of ECAC in Slovakia, Milos klatik in order for him to present his new book - “Cestou Viery” (On the path of faith) – Initiatives of Lutherans in history of Slovakia.
The head of our church – Milos Klatik and the Head of the state, president Ivan Gasparovic mer at a service in one of our smallest congregations – Pezinok, Grinava, on 6th of April 2012.
There are many Lutheran churches that are in partnership with our church. However, ECAC in Hungary has a special place among these as we have common history together. Since establishment of Evangelical Church of Augsburg Confession in the Kingdom of Hungary, independent from catholic church, until 1918 when the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy fell apart and our church became independent. We have been together through thick and thin for more than 300 years.
