The General Bishop’s Office has been visited by the chairman of Slovak Institute in Toronto – Ondrej Mihal. He has presented his new book “Spiritual Life of Slovaks in Canada”.
Our church has been visited by representants of Diaconie from Wuerttemberg, Germany, along with reporters from Evangelischer Pressedinst and Stuttgarter Zeitung.
Last year’s meeting in Zvolen with the same theme was continued on the General Bishop’s Office in Bratislava. After short worship service lead by Jan Velebir, Edita Skodova – the secretary for media and communication of the GBO has opened the meeting.
Annual conference of the Bible Study Group (MOS) of ECAC in Slovakia took place in Dudince from 2nd to 4th of March 2012. This year’s topic was “Spiritual Gifts”.
8th districtual pastoral conference in Nový Smokovec was dedicated to media and use of the media in the church. The conference was opened by bishop of the Eastern district – Slavomir Sabol, who mentioned the crucial part of media in spreading of the evangel. He also stressed that if media is to help the church, it also needs to bring peace into its life and bring people closer together.
An agreement between our church and the ECAC in Czech Republic is preparing a partnership agreement. One part of this agreement is dedicated to pastoral care for the citizens of our nations and provision of pastoral care in case they find themselves living in the other country.
The organizing team of 3rd ECD (evangelical church days) had a meeting in Lucenec, where from 29th of June until 1st of July the 3rd ECD event takes place.
17 Slovaks have been awarded with the title Reighteous Among Nations on 1st of February 2012. This title is given to people of non-jewish descent who helped Jews during holocaust. General bishop Milos Klatik was present during the awarding ceremony.
General bishop Milos Klatik admitted the Rector of Trnava University at the General Bishop’s Office in Bratislava. Inauguration of Prof. Doc. JuDr. Marek Smida took place in November last year.
Ministry of Interior Affairs of the Slovak Republic announced that the Coat of Arms of ECAC’s congregation in Skalica has been registered in the Heraldic registry of Slovak Republic.
