11th Assembly „Evangelical Women Fellowship”

“Believe on the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household” (Acts 16:31). 11th Assembly of the Evangelical Women Fellowship was led according the Bible text from the Acts, on the day Saturday, April 30, 2016 in Kremnica. At the Assembly were participated more than 350 women and a few of men from the whole Slovakia. All seniorates were represented.
The meeting part of the Assembly was held in cinema Akropola, close to the evangelical church. Welcoming greeting had local congregation pastor Jozef Pacek and the deputy of City Mayor Iveta Cecerová.

The opening devotion had senior Ján Čáby on the text from the Gospel of John 20:1-2. Then followed foreign guests greetings. As a first spoke Chairwoman of the Committee of women (Synod of ECAC in Poland) Aleksandra Blahut Kowalczyk, on behalf of sisters in Germany spoke former member of Synod EKD Gertrud Dorn, from the Hungary brought greetings Márta Pinter Brebovszky – leading representative of women work, from Gustav-Adolf-Werk Frauenarbeit spoke Chairwoman Hannelore Bohner, leading representative of women work in the Evangelical Church in Central Germany Carola Ritter and greetings from women in Silesia brought sister Natalie Klusová. Besides them, we were honored the presence also Chairwoman of Evangelisches Berufstätigenwerk Brigitte Rachel, pastor Christine Hörnig from Württemberg and Zsuzsa Brebovszky from Hungary.

The Assembly was led by Chairwoman of Evangelical Women Fellowship Daniela Horínková, she presented Chairwoman´s report and financial report. One of the most significant point of meeting was elections. New candidates were introduced and after that were voted new women coordinators of work. The information about plans of Evangelical women fellowship was next. Projects to the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation „Reformation and women“ and Embroidered history of the Reformation in Slovakia were presented by pastor Erika Hlačoková from Bratislava.

After common lunch followed a solemn worship service in Evangelical church started at 14:00. At the service we welcomed: Brother Bishop of the Western District Milan Krivda and sister Dr. Elaine Gleci Neuenfeldt, Secretary for Women in Church and Society, Lutheran World Federation WICAS, originally she is evangelical pastor from Brazil. She pleased us, when she confirmed our invitation to be a solemn preacher at the 11th Assembly of Evangelical Women Fellowship.

The sermon was based on the text from the Acts 16:19-31, in which she mentioned three women: mother of the student Timothy; Lydia, who gave baptized herself with the whole household and predict slave. Mainly, she looked for the answer on jailor question: „Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” The answer is motto of the Assembly (Acts 16:31). Her sermon was the call mainly for women to believe in Jesus Christ and announce the Gospel to the children, grandchildren and to the whole society, what is the most necessary. Brother Bishop Krivda had an intercession on the Bible text from the Matthew 25 „The Parable of the Ten Bridesmaids“.

Local congregation pastor Jozef Pacek together with the brother Inspector Peter Weis gave memorable medals, which was made special for the Assembly in historical mint in Kremnica.
