Western District Pastoral Conference of the ECAC

Western District Pastoral Conference of the ECAC

On 22 November 2013 Bishop of Western District Milan Krivda convened the Western District Pastoral Conference in Zvolen in which 86 pastors took part.
Brother Bishop Krivda officiated at the opening service. He based his sermon on Colossians 3, 16 vers:“Let Christ’s word with all its wisdom and richness live in you. Use psalms, hymns and spiritual songs to teach and instruct yourselves about God’s kindness. Sing to God in your hearts“, where the apostle encourages to worship God in right way. This is only possible if God’s Word stays in our hearts and we should try to have it in our hearts. God’s Word should be an inspiration for current Christians‘ lives and not only a book for reading.

After the worship General Bishop Miloš Klátik gave a lecture on theme: „The Bible of Kralice on the territory of current Slovakia“. He introduced the creation, development, spread and significance of the Bible of Kralice. The Bible of Kralice has had an unreplaceable role in the Czech and Slovak history and for Slovak Lutherans. The lecture was followed by a discussion. In the afternoon the dean of the Evangelical Lutheran Theological Faculty, Ľubomír Batka, the vice-dean of the Evangelical Lutheran Theological Faculty, Dávid Benka and senior of Novohrad Seniorat, Ivan Mucha presented preparation for Christmas and Advent sermons.
This conference gave an opportunity to get new ideas and knowledge but also to meet and speak together.
