The Ordination of the Chaplains 2013

On 27 July 2013 a ceremonial ordination of the chaplains was held at the Lutheran Church in Vranov nad Topľou. These chaplains promised to be faithful to God and to our Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in Slovakia.
After the graduation the degree program Evangelical theology at the Evangelical Lutheran Theological Faculty of Comenius University in Bratislava and passing the chaplain exam succesfully, following chaplains were ordained: Mgr. Daniel Gdovin, Mgr. Ľubica Gdovinová, Mgr. Tomáš Lipovský, Mgr. Viera Šoltés Tipulová, Mgr. Vladimír Ticháň and Mgr. Tomáš Valašík. This ceremony was also broadcasted.
The Board of ECAC in Slovakia, the Senior of Šariš-Zemplín Conference Ján Velebír, the Chairman of Prešov region Peter Chudík, many other pastors, relatives and friends took part in this ceremonial ordination. The local pastor Slavomír Gallo and the Mayor of the city Vranov nad Topľou Ján Ragan gave speech to the participants. Brother General Bishop Miloš Klátik was preaching. He took the words „May God be gracious to us and bless us“(Psalm 67, 1) as a basis for his sermon. Brother General Bishop said that there is summarized everything in this words - the whole life, our work, our efforts. He emphasized that God is graceful.God wants to forgive us and show his love and expects our repentance and plea for forgiveness. In the Holy Supper God strenghtens our faith and gives us benediction. Brother Bishop encouraged the chaplains to follow the Lord Jesus and to serve him faithfully. Brother Bishop of the Eastern District Slavomír Sabol gave an ordination speech based on the words from Joshua 1, 6-9. The chaplains gave a ceremonial ordination promise with hand laying on the Bible. The three Bishops carried out the act of ordination with laying hands on the chaplains´ heads and kissing them on their foreheads.
In the name of the Board of ECAC in Slovakia Brother General Inspector of ECAC Imrich Lukáč congratulated the chaplains on their entering the spiritual service in our church. He reminded them to live and work like our Lord Jesus Christ, using the words “Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.”(1 John 2, 6) and he wished them that the God’s grace leads them on every step. The Dean of the Evangelical Lutheran Theological Faculty of Comenius University in Bratislava Ľubomír Batka also joined in this congratulation and wishes.
In the name of the ordained chaplains Ľubica Gdovinová gave a speech to the participants and expressed gratitude to God, families, relatives, professors and to the ECAC in Slovakia.
