Spiritual Setting of the 2nd Evangelical Church Days in Žilina – invitation

Brothers and Sisters in our Lord Jesus Christ!
The 400th anniversary of the Žilina Synod during the second annual celebration of „Evangelical Days“ will be varied and plentiful in content. Everyone can find something to enjoy.
Rejoice in the Lord always! Again, I will say, rejoice! (Ph 4, 4).

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his power. ( Eph 6, 10)

The worship services will be the focus of these events. Here we can rejoice together, all generations, joined with the love of Jesus Christ, to be strengthened in the Lord and in the Word of God and offer prayers, to celebrate God and to pray for His blessing, help and for His care.

We invite you during the 2nd Evangelical Church Days to the following worship services:
• Thursday, July 1, 2010, 9 o´clock, Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in Žilina: Worship service to open the Synod of the ECAC of Žilina in Slovakia. The preacher will be the Reverend Reiner Stahl, General Secretary of the Martin Luther Bund.

• Friday, July 2, 2010, 19 o´clock., Mariánske Square in Žilina: Vespers for the opening of the 2nd Evangelical Church Days. The preacher will be the Reverend Slavomír Sabol, Bishop of the Eastern District ECAC in Slovakia.

• Saturday, July 3, 2010, 9 o´clock, Mariánske square in Žilina: Confirm, oh God , what have You done for us ... A commemorative service in honor of the 400th anniversary of the Žilina Synod. The preacher will be the Reverend Milan Krivda, Bishop of the Western District ECAC in Slovakia.

• Saturday, July 3, 2010, 17.00 o´clock, Mariánske Square in Žilina: To the throne of the glory... A worship service celebrating the 2nd Evangelical church days (live transmission on STV). The preacher will be Reverend General, Bishop of the ECAC in Slovakia, Miloš Klátik.

• Sunday, July 4, 2010, 10 o´clock, Nuptial palace J. Thurzo, Bytča: Come in, jubilate! - A memorial worship service honoring the men of the Synod of Žilina Eliáš Láni and Juraj Thurzo. The preacher will be the General Bishop of the ECAC in Slovakia, Miloš Klátik.

• Sunday, July 4, 2010: Closing worship service of the 2nd evangelical church days in the churches of the Turčan region. The preachers will be bishops of the partner churches from abroad.

• Monday, July, 5, 2010, Castle Branč – In memory of the Saints Cyril and Methodius and in memory of the martyrom of the reformer Ján Hus, and other evangelical martyrs within the traditional District day of the Western district (live transmission on Slovak Television). The preacher at the worship service will be the Reverend Samuel Vrbovský, Bishop of the Slovak Evangelical Church in Serbia.

• Friday, July 2, 2010, 17.00 o´clock - The Lord´s Supper will celebrated by the Reverend Peter Švehla, pastor of the Church of Skalica.
• Saturday, July 3, 2010, 14.00 o´clock. The Lord´s Supper will be celebrated by the Reverend Martin Vargovčák and the Reverend Kristína Vargovčáková, pastors of the Church in Turany.
• Saturday, July 3, 2010, 20 o´clock. The Lord´s Supper will be celebrated by the Reverend Daniel Duraj, pastor of the Church in Horná Mičiná.

Saturday, July 3, 2010, 11. 00 o´clock, Evangelical church in Žilina: For You, O God, tested us, You refined us like silver. (Psalm 66, 10). The Biblical study will be lead by Brother Ján Midriak, former bishop of the Eastern District in Slovakia.
