General Bishop of ECAC in Serbia

General Bishop of the Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession (ECAC) in Slovakia Miloš Klátik was sojourned on a two-days visit in Serbia with other co-workers.
On Saturday was held in Báčsky Petrovec pastoral conference. On this conference was attended General Bishop. By the occasion of the Year of the Ľudovít Štúr General Bishop had prepared a lecture about Ľudovít Štúr. Štúr was a significant evangelical personality. He was one of the leader of the Slovak national revival in the 19th century, he stood in the formation of the modern Slovak nation, he was the author of the Slovak language standard eventually leading to the contemporary Slovak literary language. General Bishop also granted the Holy Communion to the pastors which were attended on the conference.

On Sunday he participated on the Worship in the evangelical church in B.Petrovec together with bishop of the Slovak Evangelical Church of the Augsburg confession in the Serbia Samuel Vrbovský. Rare delegation was welcomed on the beginning by local priests Vladislav Ivičiak. Part of the delegation were MUDr. Imrich Lukáč – general inspector of ECAC in Slovakia with his wife, and Ing. Dušan Vagaský – Director of the General Bishop´s Office ECAC.

The theme of the 4th Lent Sunday is The Bread of the Life. General Bishop Klátik in his sermon spoke about feeling of insecurity with which we all are fighting, about dangerous of the sin, which lurking of us, and about Jesus as our protector, Jesus as a bread of life. Everyone Christian needs this bread to overcome insecurity and victory over sin. He said: „Jesus as a bread of life, brings a life, and therefore we have to rejoice“.

General Inspector Imrich Lukáč on behalf of the whole Evangelical Church thanked to Slovaks in Serbia for everything, what they done and do for conservation of the slovak awareness and evangelical confession.
