ECAC in Slovakia Has a Tree in Luther’s Garden in Wittenberg

General Bishop Miloš Klátik as the 51st representative of the churches from the whole world has planted the tree Gleditsia Triacanthos in Luther’s Garden with number 150. It is a project called "500 years of reformation - 500 trees in Wittenberg".
The festivity of planting of the trees was attended by representatives of German churches, secretary of the Lutheran World Federation for Europe Eva Vogel Mfato, bishop of the Evangelical-Lutheran Church in Hungary Tamás Fabiny, chairman of the foreign department of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Finland, rector of the Luther’s Institute from Estonia and many other guests. General Bishop said text from Romans 1, 17, and the evangelical hymn “Mighty Fortress is Our God” could be heard at the end of the official program.

During this business trip the General Bishop engaged in a debate with secretary of the Lutheran World Federation for Europe Eva Vogel Mfato and with bishop of the Evangelical-Lutheran Church in Hungary Tamás Fabiny about improving mutual communication between churches and the contribution of the Council KALME in this area KALME – The Communication Committee of European Minority Churches – Kommunikationsauschuss Lutherischer Minderheitskirchen in Europa, that was established by the Lutheran World Federation as an instrument for communication service).
Both foreign representatives appreciated the content of the website www.ecav.sk and recommended to focus also on its German and English versions in order to improve the awareness about the life of our church abroad.
