7th CPCE General Assembly in Florence

The 7th Assembly of the Community of Protestant Churches in Europe (CPCE) held under the motto "free for the future" in Florence took place from 20 - 26 of September. General Bishop Miloš Klátik, who is the Chairman of AGDE answered questions concerning the cooperation between AGDE and CPCE.
The representatives of the member churches of the CPCE discussed issues that are currently present in Protestant churches. One of these issues is the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation. The working groups followed up on the work of the 6th Vollversamlung in Budapešť in 2006. This year focused on four thematic areas: Scripture, confession and church; Ministry, ordinatio and Episkope; Standing up for Justice and Education training for the ministry. The 7th General Assembly elected the new Presidium of the CPCE. Among elected were bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Brunswick, Frederick Weber, acting as executive president, Gottfried Locher from Switzerland and Klára Cselovszky Tarr from Hungary. Bishop Michael Bünker of the ECAC in Austria has been reelected to the function of Secretary of the CPCE
