70th anniversary of the Slovak National Uprising in Banska Bystrica

General Bishop of Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in the Slovak Republic and chairman of Ecumenical council of Churches in Slovakia Miloš Klátik he laid a wreath to the memorial of Slovak National Uprising (SNU) within 70th anniversary celebration of Slovak National Uprising. He participated on the solemn official program in area of the museum SNU in Banská Bystrica on 29th august 2014.
The first one who laid the wreath to the memorial of SNU were direct participants of the rebel fight. Their were followed by president of Slovak Republic – Andrej Kiska and president of Czech Republic – Miloš Zeman. Monument of heros of SNU also bowed President of the National Council of the Slovak Republic Pavol Paška, Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Robert Fico and another personalities and many visitors from abroad.

By the estimate of the director of Museum of Slovak National Uprising Stanislav Mičeva were attended on the official part of anniversary around 10 to 15 thousand people. They came give up honor, respect to fighters, who were fighting for an ideal of freedom and democracy.

Presidium of the ECAC in Slovakia adopted a statement to the 70th anniversary Slovak National Uprising. In this statement we were remembered with honour, esteem, many of evangelical lutherans and also evangelical lutheran pastors, who helped fearless rebel fighters, or they were directly involved in the fight of Uprising, for example: evangelical pastor from Banská Bystrica and senior of the Zvolen conference – Ján Bakossa, evangelical pastor – Jozef Bučka, Jozef Juráš, Ctibor Ján Handza, Juraj Holčík, Pavol Hronec and more another.
