On 14 July, 2013 we commemorated the 170th anniversary of the Codification of Slovak language in Hlboké. Many pastors from the surrounding region and delegates from the goverment body participated in the commemorative worship service. Dušan Čaplovič, the Minister of education, science, research and sport of the Slovak Republic, was also present at this celebration.

On 5 – 6 July, 2013 the celebration of the 1150th anniversary of the arrival of Constantin and Methodius to the area of Great Moravia took place at the castle Branč and at the Evangelical Church in Brezová pod Bradlom.

On June 28-29, 2013 the Synod of the Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in Slovakia took place in Myjava. This place was chosen on the occasion of the 350th anniversary of Daniel Krman’s birth. Daniel Krman Jr. was a significant evangelical pastor in Myjava from 1690 to 1699, a superintendent, the central figure of the Synod in Ružomberok in the year 1707, and a martyr of faith.

General Bishop Miloš Klátik participated on the annual meeting of the Council of The Lutheran World Federation (LWF) on 13-18 June 2013 at the Ecumenical Centre in Geneva. The theme for the 2013 meeting of the LWF governing body was: “Called to Be Disciples in Today`s World”. There were 167 participants including the 49 Council members, advisers, guests and the LWF staff.
Dr. Vladimír Zajac, belongs to the significant personalities from various scientific branches that are recognized each year by the Slovak Academy of Science. Dr. Vladimír Zajac was recognized for his scientific results in the field of experimental carcinology. His achievments have been recognized internationally. Dr. Zajac received his prize at the ceremonial seminary of the Slovak Academy of Science on 30 May, 2013.
On June 8, 2013, the Board of the ECAC in Slovakia had a meeting dealing with the inner relationships of the ECAC. The meeting was opened and led by the Director of the General Bishop’s Office Dušan Vagaský.

On July 10, 2013 General Bishop of ECAC in Slovakia Miloš Klátik welcomed guests from Concordia University in Wisconsin, USA – Dr Patrick Ferry, the President of the University with his wife and Dr David Birner, the Director of International cooperation accompanied by David Fiala, the Project Coordinator for Central Europe.
On the occasion of celebration of the 1150th anniversary of the arrival of Constantin and Methodius to our area, the Constantinopol archbishop, the ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I. came for a three-day state call. He visited Bratislava on 27th May 2013 after visiting Prešov and Košice.
One of the permanent regional working groups of the Lutheran World Federation (LWF) is the European commission “Church and Jewishness” (Lutherische Europäische Komission Kirche und Judentum – LEKKJ ). The European Membership Churches of the LWF including the Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession (ECAC) in Slovakia are represented in the commission. This year annual conference of European commission of the LWF “Church and Jewishness” took place in Bratislava on 23 – 27 May 2013.
The Chairman of the National Council of the Slovak Republic Pavol Paška hosted the Board of the Evangelical Church of the Augsburg Confession in Slovakia – General Bishop Miloš Klátik and General Inspector Imrich Lukáč and the Board of the Evangelical Church body in Beckov.
