On 17th – 18th January 2013 there was the second meeting of the International preparatory committee for 9th Gathering of Christians 2014. It will be held in Wrocław, Poland on July 4-6, 2014.
The General Bishop of the ECAC in Slovakia Miloš Klátik , the Bishop of Western District of the ECAC Milan Krivda and a former General Inspector Pavel Delinga participated in the State Award Ceremony on 1st January 2013 in Reduta.
The Board of the Evangelical Church A.C. in Slovakia – General Bishop Miloš Klátik and General Inspector Imrich Lukáč and the Bishops of Eastern and Western District of ECAC Slavomír Sabol and Milan Krivda were welcomed by the President of the Slovak Republic Ivan Gašparovič on 10th January 2013 together with other representatives of churches in Slovakia.
General, Bishop Miloš Klátik as a chairman of the Committee for Theology and Ecumenical Relations of the LWF, attended the meeting of officers of the Lutheran World Federation (LWF) in Geneva.
Congregation in Gemerská Poloma has celebrated 225th anniversary of consecration of their church on Sunday the 25th of November 2012. General bishop Milos Klatik came to Gemerska Poloma with a word of greeting and a sermon.
Ing. Ladislav Cajko who is a teacher of applied economics at Evangelical gymnasium in Tisovec has was nominated for best teacher of 2012 – EWB Teacher Award 2012. This was a part of teacher’s conference in Norway.
On 11th of November was avery special day in congregation in Hrochot. This day the members of congregation and their guests have commemorated 180th anniversary of consecration of this church. At the same time there has been a concecration after general renovation.
Thanks to the initiative of hungarian pastor Peter Zaszkaliczky a memorial plaque has been unveiled at Deák tér – Budapest, commemorating the 200th anniversary of establishment of Evangelical Lutheran Church in Hungary.
There has been a second ordination ceremony this year. On 17th of November 2012 in lutheran church in Dolny Kubin another 5 chaplains who sucessfully passed chaplain exams, have been ordained.
During the Days of Congregation in Vychodna another tree of reformation has been planted. This time it was a traditional slovak tree – a lime-tree. The program started at 13:00 on Saturday the 27th of October 2012 with special workshop for children called “Armor of God”. Official program continued at 17:00 when pastor Viktor Sabo talked of his experience in Afghanistan, where he spent half a year serving as a pastor.
