The third conference of Slovaks living abroad began on 27th of June 2012 in the church of ECAC in Slovakia in Velky Krtis. The Novohrad seniorate was chosen as a meeting place for this event as most of the Slovaks who left their homeland come from this region.
The national part of the international contest Social Innovation Relay (SIR) has been won by a team from the Evangelical Gymnasium in Tisovec. Students have prepared a short film „Kick out the difference“ that dealt with migration and its influence on the society.
During the second week of June the vicars of our church met in Velky Slavkov. The aim of this meeting was to share experience they gained while serving in different congregations. The general bishop Klatik honored this meeting by his visit and lead a discussion in the afternoon.
After the previous negotiansions at the government office of Slovak republic on 15th of June 2012 general bishop Milos Klatik met archbishop of Bratislava, Stanislav Zvolensky at the General Bishop’s Office.
General Bishop Milos Klatik has taken part at a meeting at the government office of slovak republic at another meeting of the Committee for Solidarity and Development.
Michael Buenker, general secretary of CEC and bishop of ECAC in Austria, Thomas Wipf, executive president of CEC and president emeritus of Swiss evangelical church communion met with the General Bishop Klatik, chairman of AGDE.
On 7th of June 2012 General Bishop Klatik met with the minister of education Dusan Caplovic. The focus of this meeting was church educataion system of ECAC in Slovakia. Dean of theological faculty of Commenius University Lubomir Batka informed the participants of the results of evaluation of the faculty and carried on to discuss financing of the dormitory of this faculty. Accreditation of the theological faculty has also been discussed at the meeting.
The board of the novohrad seniorate met on Saturday 26th of May 2012 in the evangelical church in Lucenec. The bishop of western district – Milan Krivda led the installation of newly elected board: Senior Ivan Mucha and Senior Inspector Ing. Jan Dobsinsky.
The members of congregation in Rimavska Sobota have commemorated their 25th confirmation anniversary during the Whitsun this year. The sermon was provided by general bishop Milos Klatik.
The general bishop Miloš Klátik took the offer of the prime minister of Slovakia, Robert Fico to join the committee for solidarity and development. This advisory body has been established last week. There have already been three meetings and more are planned to take place in the near future.
